PC TRAINED PLAYER OF THE WEEK (3)
In Allen, Texas, football is about as important as food, water, and a good night’s sleep. Despite bringing in a 28 game winning streak and winning back to back state championships to start the 2014 season, all anyone seemed to care about was the status of the multi-million dollar stadium that the Eagles call home. The infamous cracks in the concourse of Eagle Stadium have turned out to be irrelevant to Allen’s quest for a three peat as they have exploded to a 2-0 start. Looking of their 31st consecutive win the Eagles traveled to McKinney to take on the red hot Boyd Broncos, just coming off a huge win against Coppell, who incidentally was the last team to beat Allen way back in 2012. After a hot start capped off by a Bronco score and a quarter that only saw 3 offensive plays for the Eagles, senior receiver Jalen Guyton decided to take matters into his own hands as he took the ensuing kickoff 89-yards to pay dirt. The Notre Dame commit was far from done as he gave the Bronco secondary all they could handle time and time again. When the dust settled and the Jalen Guyton filled onslaught was over the damage was 5 catches for 102 yards and a hat trick, 3 receiving touchdowns. Add in the kick return and in total Guyton had amassed over 200 all purpose yards and 4 scores. As if that wasn’t enough for his resume, the 6’1 190 pound senior torched Plano this past Friday night for 9 catches for 178 yards and added a score. Our advice for defensive coordinators trying to slow down Guyton? Good luck. Jalen has been PC trained since he was in 5th grade and his hard work is most definitely paying off. This past summer, Jalen not only boasted huge gains in athleticism, explosiveness, and speed, but he was also elected to the leadership council voted on by his teammates. He is truly a player that signifies a popular performance course saying “Big Team, Little Me”. For his efforts, Jalen Guyton is the Performance Course Player of the Week. Congrats Jalen!
